Safety and Governance
Managing Crisis
MindYourself does not provide crisis service. However, we do take steps to ensure that a customer who presents with a crisis situation is signposted to a relevant place for support. This could either be local authority provision, charitable provision or it could be an integration into the organisation system provision that would be agreed in the onboarding process.
Safeguarding in Peer Support
Our Peer Support Workers and participants in the Peer Support Programme are safeguarded by our comprehensive and stringent processes.
Recruitment and Training: Every Peer Support Worker undergoes a thorough selection and training program to ensure they are well-suited and fully equipped to provide effective support. All Peer Support Workers are trained in a traffic light system, where they identify red flag behaviour and escalate up to the clinical lead where necessary. They are also trained in socratic questioning within a motivational interviewing frameworks. All Peer Support Workers are trained and qualified in Mental Health First Aid.
Supervision and Support: Peer Support Workers receive ongoing supervision and have access to Clinical Psychologists for the escalation of any issues that arise.
Clinical Governance: All aspects of our Peer Support processes are under clinical oversight. Through the careful monitoring of case notes - as outlined in the agreed terms of use - and robust referral procedures, our clinical leads are prepared to intervene whenever clinical concerns are identified.
Safeguarding in our AI
Our AI function is designed with robust safeguarding measures to protect our users. All conversations within the AI are captured and recorded, as outlined in the agreed terms of use.
Each interaction is carefully scanned using monitoring software that is trained to detect key words and markers indicative of potential concerns. Should any conversation be flagged, a qualified clinician reviews the content and takes appropriate action when necessary. This process ensures that our AI function remains a secure and supportive tool for all users.
